Breaking the Silence on Menstrual Health

On May 28, 2025, Hold the Child commemorated Menstrual Hygiene Day in Western Bahr El Ghazal with debates, drama plays, radio talk shows, and school campaigns. The focus was on tackling stigma and advocating for policy changes around menstrual products and menstrual hygiene management (MHM).

This year, over 50 pupils engaged in debates, and community dialogues were held to amplify the voices of girls facing cultural barriers to proper hygiene. Our efforts with the MHM Coalition continue to break taboos and ensure menstrual health is recognized as a public health and human rights issue.
